About Us
At a very early age of my life, one of my uncles would dress me up as "Bootsy" Collins with the glasses and a cape and hand me a Mickey Mouse guitar while reaching for the stereo to turn on some Parliament-Funkadelic. I think I was made to enjoy and love music and to become a bass player.
In 2001 I was introduced to the central ideas of guitar construction by my guitar tech, Mike Nedd of Nedd Guitars. Ever since then I have been working with these ideas, refining my understanding of them, and developing the craftsmanship that brings them to life.
Over the past 20 years, I have learned it is best for me to keep things simple. I prefer to build with my own two hands using tools and machinery that keep the processes and details moving forward. I lean towards the use woods that have gone through the torrefaction process for necks and other parts of the instrument. Connecting with the instrument is key and that's why I use thin water based finishes to feel the wood.
Each guitar I build is unique and no two are exactly alike, and it all starts with a conversation with you. Let's discuss your next Talon Guitar!
